Golf Carts, Not Just For the Golf Course Anymore!

Golf carts have a wide range of uses. Sure, the most obvious is for the golf course. But where else might you use a golf cart. Surprisingly almost anywhere short distances of travel are needed. Below, I'll talk about such instances where the use of a golf cart would be ideal.

On the golf course, golf carts are the primary means of transportation aside from walking. Golf carts are convenient and easy to use by everyone. The use of the golf cart makes traveling across the golf course quick and painless. Typically, most golf courses use electric powered golf carts as opposed to gas powered golf carts. Several factors influence this decision, but more than likely they choose electric due to its quiet use.

There are many large corporations that look to golf carts in order to help move people across large sites where businesses are located. For example, so much time can be saved by using a golf cart to travel across the worksite as opposed to walking by foot. If the need to go back and forth the workplace frequently, the amount of time saved by using the golf cart could be worth alot of money to the company compared to someone always walking.

Many security companies use golf carts to patrol the grounds of a company that they are securing. The golf cart makes it easy to cover alot of ground in a little time. The quietness of the electric golf cart also is a bonus in that it may be quiet enought to catch suspecting crooks off guard.

Golf carts have also been known to have a use on the home front, especially if you own alot of land. Sure, if you own a lot of land, you may have a tractor, or other large piece of machinery. Would anyone of them be as efficient as an electric golf cart? Chances are they are not, especially with the current gas prices.

As noted above, there are many uses for golf carts aside from the golf course. Whether you are at the golf course, workplace, or even the homefront, the golf cart could be of use to you.

Check from both sides of your ball as well as behind the ball when lining up. The appearance of the grass shows the grain. If it looks shiny the grain is away from you. Golf Balls - The First Piece of Basic Equipment

No matter how good a golfer may be, he or she will not be any good at all without golf balls. Granted, it is a no-brainer that golfers need to have golf balls in order to play. But, the question is, which golf balls are the best.

This is a sticky situation and depends almost entirely the individual golfer and his or her tastes, what he or she expects out of the ball, and, quite frankly, how much money he or she wants to spend.

There are golfers out there who will play with nothing but one brand of ball. No matter what else happens, they will only and always use this particular brand. What these balls cost is irrelevant to them. It is this ball or no golf. Yes, this going to the extremes, but, lets face it, there are people in this world who prefer living life at the extreme edge of sanity.

Now, lets get down to some common sense when it comes to the golf ball. We shall start with the beginning golfer. The beginner needs to forget what he or she may have heard about any brand or type of golf ball, what it does and how far it goes. Beginning golfers are going to lose a lot of golf balls. They need to think more about price than quality. The beginning golfer needs to purchase 'been around' balls, which are balls sold in bulk (around 50 to a bag), that have been found on golf courses and recycled, for lack of a better word.

OK, these used golf balls are more often than not name brand balls, but this does not matter. The beginning golfer, in learning how to hit the ball straight, keep it in the fairway, out of the woods and water, will go through dozens, if not hundreds of golf balls. Therefore, the logical thing for the beginning golfer to do is buy in bulk.

As the golfer gets better, the best idea would be to move up to a better grade of ball. This, though, does not mean to rush out to the nearest golfing supply house and buy the most expensive ball on the shelves. Again, think about the price of the ball and the level of your skill.

If a player has a tendency to slice the ball, or tends to top the ball (this is where the club head hits the top of the ball. While it gives the ball a lot of top spin, the ball does not travel far, and tends to be gashed by the club), stick with cheap balls. This does not mean stay with the bulk recycled balls, but inexpensive new ones.

In theory, players get better the more they play. As the skill level increases, the golfer can experiment with different brands of golf balls, checking to see which ones he or she may like the best. And, a lot of thought should be given to the type of course the golfer will be using these balls on.

The Secret And Crucial Role Of Alignment In Supercharging Your Game!

The alignment is an absolutely crucial and vital part to any golfer�s game. You swing round your body, therefore if your body is offline, your swing in turn will be off line and out of sync, resulting in a poor swing and a poor shot, usually ending up deep in the rough.

When setting up to the ball, firstly ensure the clubface is square to the �ball to pin line� (the line between the ball and the pin), and ensure that your shoulders, hips and feet are all parallel to the �ball to pin line�, if these 3 are not aligned and one is out, a good body turn is ruined with a poor swing resulting.

When training, on the driving range or wherever you can practise, a useful technique for lining up is to place a club on the floor and check that you�re your feet, hips and shoulders line up with each other, the shoulder alignment is particularly crucial because your body turn starts with your shoulders.

Ideally, you should be lining your body up slightly to the left of the target (slightly to the right for left hand players), as opposed to trying to line your body up with the target itself.

On the course a simple test to see if this is the case, is to look at the target, if you can see your left shoulder, then you are lined up to too far to the right (visa versa for lefthanders), your shoulder should be just out of sight.

Poor Alignment can have several affects, these are all negative. Aligning too far to the left most commonly leads to the slicing of the ball, this occurs because you are not parallel to the line running from ball to pin. As a result the backswing is limited so an �out to in� swing results. As a consequence the club face is slightly open on impact which generates side spin on the ball. This leads to the common problem which is the slice which I will explain in another article.

If you align too far to the right, the opposite will take place and a hook will occur due to the �in to out� swing of the club, although quite common with beginners and inexperienced players.

Often they will subconsciously become aware of this and try to adjust mid-swing, over adjusting by opening up the clubface as impact approaches. This again results in the slicing of the ball, which is very difficult to control and usually leads to �the rough�.

Alignment is an often overlooked and crucial part to any golfer�s game and therefore must be addressed for you to succeed at any level of golf. For as long as you�re alignment is out, you will never be able to consistently hit straight accurate shots and will increasingly find yourself hooking or slicing into the rough, turning those pars into bogies and taking your round from a 75 to 85.

So get that alignment sorted and go shoot some birdies.

When buying used golf clubs make sure graphite shafts don't have worn areas or indentations that could cause weakness. Test the torque by twisting the grip and head in opposite directions. If there isn't great resistance, it's a sign of weakness. For steel shafts, look down the shaft to make sure it hasn't been bent back into shape.
